ROLLMAT™
ROLLMAT 'carpet' reinforcement, as the name suggests, is a one directional mat of prefabricated reinforcement supplied to site as a roll, ready to be installed in position just as you would a carpet.
Each roll consists of the reinforcement required for a particular layer, either B1, B2, T1 or T2.
The reinforcement is welded, at the required centres, to thin metal straps and rolled around metal formers and rebar collars which provide a solid core to the ROLLMAT, and eliminates any fear of collapse or crushing.
The ROLLMAT, once manufactured, is supplied with a unique positioning system and two suitable lifting strops which are placed on the roll for a totally balanced lift. These lifting strops can be used to lift the ROLLMATs from the delivery vehicle to a storage area and then directly into position on the slab.
Usage Video
Due to the robust method of manufacture, there is no need for any other form of lifting beam.
For health and safety reasons, the lifting strops are a one use only, throw away item.
ROLLMAT can be manufactured to the following specifications:
- 16mm to 40mm rebar.
- 12m long (15m on special order).
- Possible 30m roll width (dependent upon bar diameters and centres).
- Varying length and staggered bars possible on a single roll.
- Varying bar diameters possible on a single roll.
- Varying bar centres possible on a single roll.
- Maximum 0.75m diameter roll.
- Maximum weight per roll of 5 ton.
- ROLLMAT bars may be threaded to couple with adjacent ROLLMAT or loose bars.
- Air hose system for heavier rolls.
- Pre-stropped for safe handling on site.
- CARES approved material and manufacture.
Air Hoses
Generally, the weights of the rolls can be designed to suit just two or three men to lay and roll it out into position, but when needed, the rolls can be produced up to 5 tons in weight. For this, Express Reinforcements have developed a system of self rolling.
Air hoses are introduced to the roll during manufacture, and once the ROLLMAT has been positioned on site, these hoses can be connected to an air compressor, and with the minimum amount of pressure, the hoses inflate and roll the reinforcement out.
Health and Safety
From a health and safety point of view, ROLLMAT can reduce the total amount of bar required as well as eliminating the piles of loose bar on site, which could cause injury to steel-fixers trying to sift through them to find the appropriate bar marks.
Also, by rolling out up to 5 tonnes of bar in one go rather than fixing individual bars, the risk of repetitive strain injury to steel-fixers could be reduced.
Accessories
Express Reinforcements can provide all necessary standard construction accessories to complete a project, along with some specials to aid in the laying of ROLLMAT.
Shearform Ladders
Express can provide a system of prefabricated shear links to be manufactured to the engineers design and laid in conjunction with ROLLMAT to further speed up the slab construction.
High Chairs
Any height or length of heavy duty rebar and machine made high chairs can be manufactured and supplied to suit slab depths.
Headed Anchor Couplers
ANCON headed couplers help to reduce congestion and simplify the placement of ROLLMAT or rebar by removing the need for hooked ends on pile or column bars into a slab.
