The Paradise Project
Liverpool
Express Reinforcements are involved with supplying steel reinforcement for one of Europe's largest urban regeneration projects: The Paradise Project in Liverpool. To date, Express has delivered over 25,000 tonnes of loose cut and bent and Rollmat to the 17 hectare site in the heart of the city.
Due to be completed in 2008 when Liverpool will be the European Capital of Culture, the Paradise Project is a retail-led mixed use development with six areas of varying character in terms of scale and use:
- Hanover Street
An informal district with home ware shops and a street market. - Peter's Lane
Traditional arcades, narrow streets and new squares with fashion shops and city centre living. - Paradise Street
Pedestrianised boulevard and flagship retail stores and pavement cafes. - The Park
Comprising a sky garden and park pavilions this will be one of Liverpool's largest urban spaces. The park will conceal a 2,000-space underground car park. - South John Street
Shopping mall on two levels. - Point of arrival
New bus station and car parking.
In addition to the retail space, there will be two hotels and 600 residential units. Total investment value is £920 million.
